Yasmin Shubber is a writer and a poet. She writes poems, fairy tales and novels.
She has been writing since 1990, and has won an award in 2004 for one of her books of poems.1) SOURYHA: The Other Side
is the first novel of trilogy.
This novel belongs to the fantasy genre but is what I call Spiritual Fantasy.
The story takes place in an imaginary world, Souryha and begins with
the adventures of a young woman, Teesmya. A new path opens up in her life
the day she meets a strange man who makes revelations about hidden skills
she has. At the same time, many other parallel stories take place in the world
where rumours of war are spreading.

Here are other books of poems done previously.1) Book of Poems: Surya's Mandala
This book of poems won the 4th prize of the International Poetry Contest of Arles
in France in 2004. This collection of poems describes the experience and impressions
of the writer as she travelled across different regions of India for the first time.
This book came out at the same time as an exhibition of pictures on India in May 2004
in Geneva, Switzerland. This book was handmade with a limited number of copies.
2) Book of Poems and Pictures: A Summer in Ladakh
This bilingual English and French book presents a series of pictures and poems
on the writer's first trip to Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas. First handmade, it was then
published in 2006 by Viveka Foundation. This is a limited edition.
There was a public reading of this book in December 2008 in Paris
during a photography exhibition.
